Dear Friends in Christ,

Reflecting on my last five years as Rector at Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary, I take immense joy in our seminarians and students as they prepare for the day when they can serve the people of God in our parishes and communities.

The mission of the seminary is to form servant-leaders after the heart of Jesus Christ for the Church of today and tomorrow. We accomplish this mission through our four schools of learning ~ the Theological Seminary, the College Seminary, the School of Diaconal Formation, and the School of Theological Studies. In addition to preparation of Catholic men for the priesthood, we also welcome permanent diaconate candidates, and religious and lay faithful who come to Saint Charles for graduate studies in theology, scripture, and catechetics. The commitment of the seminarians, permanent diaconate candidates, religious and lay faithful currently enrolled at Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary gives me great hope for the future of our church.

As we explore the seminary’s possible relocation and affiliation with a local Catholic university, I am confident that this new path forward will allow us to build on our already strong formation programs and pursue new facilities that will enrich and better serve the contemporary academic, spiritual and human needs of our seminarians and students. There is great excitement as we continue to grow and thrive as a seminary community, creating stronger in-house programs while building bridges to our greater Catholic community.

Your support is critical at this time. We are deeply grateful to faithful Catholics like you, whose continued generosity make our outstanding formation programs possible. Because of your faithful support, we have a premier center for priestly formation and theological education, and one of the Church’s greatest, renewable treasures. Your gifts to the seminarians and students today help nurture the gifts they will return to the Church tomorrow.

I invite you to come to the seminary and experience it personally. Join us for one of several events, prayer services, concerts and lectures throughout the year where all are welcome to pray and to interact with our seminarians and students. We want you to truly see

St. Charles as your seminary… for today, for tomorrow, for all of us.

Thank you for your continued support. The Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary community keeps you in our prayers daily, and we ask for a remembrance in yours as well.

Sincerely in Christ,

Most Reverend Timothy C. Senior
